After officially dating for 10 years, 4 months and 3 days, Tyler and Jenny tied the knot on July 7, 2018. They met in Renee King's high school choir, when Jenny was in 10th grade, and Tyler was in 11th. They chose July 7th for their wedding date, because that's the week they go up north to the cabin for vacation. As Jenny put it, "Now, we will always be on vacation on our anniversary!".
When planning their wedding, Jenny and Tyler spent a fair amount of time talking to their officiant, Charles King (the husband of the choir director where they met in high school). Jenny and Tyler viewed Charles and Renee's marriage as their idea of how a strong marriage with strong values works. Tyler and Jenny both believe a strong marriage includes being open, being honest, sharing the same values (for them it's family), and being good to one another.
On their wedding day, everyone got ready at a rented Airbnb home in St. Paul, Minnesota (the women upstairs, the men downstairs). After Tyler and Jenny shared a private first look, everyone traveled to Island Park in Shoreview, Minnesota for photos. Jenny's grandfather let the bride and groom drive his 1956 Ford F100, which he built himself from the bare frame and body. After photos, everyone went to the Shoreview Community Center for the ceremony and reception. Laughter, tears, and a lot of Disney music were shared during the ceremony. After a fun evening of toasts, dancing, laughing and sneaking away for some sunset photos, we ended the evening with sparkler photos. Tyler and Jenny's parents helped spell out L-O-V-E in sparklers.
