Zack and Christy took their love for all things bookish and nerdy to a whole new level for their wedding at the Elm Creek Park Chalet in Maple Grove, MN. The bridesmaids wore 1950's style dresses, the groomsmen wore gray suits with custom D20 ties (20-sided dice). Christy and Zack did not have a ring bearer -- they had a GNOME. (Okay, so they had a baby dressed as a gnome, but he wore a custom-crocheted outfit and was brought down the aisle in a wagon labeled "bookmobile" -- SQUEE!) The bouquets were hand-made from book pages and boutonnieres from Lego Guys (everything was awesome). For their ceremony, they got married under an archway made from antique books. And they didn't tie the knot -- for their unity ceremony, they wove book pages together.
For their guestbook, we photographed each guest with a Polaroid camera. Guests received two photos -- one as a keepsake, and one to turn into a Magic: The Gathering card. Guests found their tables via a different book theme, and the centerpieces contained books, terrariums and toy dinosaurs and more Lego Guys. Dinner was not dinner, but brunch; and instead of cake, we ate donuts.
My husband and I were seriously nerding out the entire time. We're still nerding out. This was definitely a wedding we'll remember for years to come!
